We often forget the impact careers have on families and children specifically. Now that Barack Obama has been elected into office, the lives of two little girls are about to be totally twisted. I'm sure they lived a pretty priveledged life in Chicago with a father who was a senator, but imagine being young and having the PRESIDENT be your father? Chelsea Clinton was old enough to grasp the whole concept, but this morning I found myself wondering what could possibly be going through Malia and Sasha's minds these past few months and NOW especially. Not only is their DADDY going to be the President of The United States of America ... but they are now The First Family! These girls will now be going to sleep at night in the WHITE HOUSE. Being so young, will they be allowed to have slumber parties and friends over? I remember as a kid it was a big deal to have a friend over on a weekday afternoon to "play," whatever that means. I wonder what life is going to be like for these girls. Say they do have a slumber party, are people going to start slamming Barack for hosting kiddie parties at the White House? What an exciting time for the Obama family and for the rest of  the country who made this a part of our American culture.

... next step for the Obama's transition ... rewarding the girls with their puppy! I don't know about you, but i'm super excited to see how things play out in Washington and really looking forward to watching The First Family adjust into this new life!
