7.11.08 When did I become an adult and how can I make it stop?

When did we become adults? It's like one day you're just goofing around watching after-school specials with your bff and the next it's like BAM! Here we are, right now, easing heart aches, finding purpose, and working towards becoming "what you want to be when you grow up." For the most part, growing up is freakin awesome. It seems like each day there's a new responsibility, but all of the perks make it ohhh so worth it. You take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you've got, remember what you had, spending the nights you can't remember, with the people you can't forget, nothing is promised, but it's all worth it.
So we yearn, we lust, we love, we lose, we work, we cry, we laugh, we climb, we fall, we sleep, we wake, we apologize, we struggle, we question, we ponder, we wonder, we choose, we justify, we befriend, we betray, we live. With every day comes a new light. With every light comes a new path, and with every new path comes this crazy thing we call life.
The days go by so slowly, but the weeks go by so fast. We'll fill the days with prosper and the nights with alcohol, the weekends with spending and befriending. I rid myself of stress with new pumps and I find confidence in a new tube of mascara. Insecurity with new lipstick. Voids with new interests. It's all a game. Life. Proceed with caution.
