I'm really starting to appreciate NEPA ... minus the pot holes.

  I've grown really fond of my apartment and the fact that it is a STEAL! It's AMAZING that you can rent in this area so cheap and some apartments have such personality. 12 foot ceilings, 8 foot high windows, civil war era crown molding... there's so much to appreciate about housing here.

   Then there's the plethora of establishments where you can enjoy a nice Corona light or rasberry margarita! Let's talk about the night life. You hear very few people complaining that there's nothing to do. It seems like there's always someone out at any given time and there's always a good band playing. I've lived in a few different places, but none have compared when it comes to local music. There is so much talent here and so many bands that help us waste away the wee hours of the morning singing, dancing, and drinking until it's that dreaded time of the night ... last call. 

   I haven't gotten into the whole "church picnic" or "bazaar" thing really, but I hear they are quite the time! I'm not really into fried oreos and cheese fries, but i'm definitely going to make it a point to visit one of these little festivals and soak it all up! 
 
   There's something really special about driving home from work in good old Pittston and watching the sunset over the mountain as I cross the train tracks. It's my FAVORITE when the skyline is purple and orange and you watch the sun disappear into a mountain. You can't see that in New York City, that's for sure. 

  I've seriously met some of the most original, outgoing, and talented people since I moved here and I've come to realize a lot about the friendships that form in a place like NEPA. They are strong. It seems like the people who do make those tight-knit friendships and keep them, REALLY DO turn their friends into family. It's amazing.

   Most people born and rasied in Northeastern Pennsylvania have PRIDE for the area and it makes you love it even more. I've met so many people who have a passion for revitalizing NEPA and strengthening the community as a whole. I really admire their pride for where they come from and it's even more exciting when you see their pride and passion pay off.

  A perfect example of what i'm talking about ...  August 2 @ Nightcaps in Edwardsville! 5-7-0 Tattooing Co. is one of those local businesses that is owned by great people who are always involved in community events and charities. Save the date... it's going to be a great night with lots of people who have that local pride I was just taking about. Have a kick ass night and do it for a reason.



Set it in your phone calendar. Tell your friends. Make it a date. Just go! Lots of bands. Good people. Great cause.  See you there!
