Ok, so i'm no Siskel and Ebert, but I do LOVE to see new movies and like everyone else, I've got an opinion. Last week I made it very clear that this new movie TROPIC THUNDER, sucked. I got up and left about 50 minutes into it. Well last night I went to go see Mirrors. I was SOO looking forward to this one because the previews made it seem THRILLING and SCARY and GRUESOME! Don't you hate when the previews are 1,000x better than the film itself? It was SLOWWW starting and I think i'm developing an adult wave of ADHD because I lose focus if things don't draw me in. It took a good 40 minutes for the movie to even get going and once it did get going ... ehh ... it certainly wasn't THRILLING, SCARY, or GRUESOME. It was just OK. The end of the movie was the best part. The concept of the movie was above average and had tons of potential. It just didn't take itself to that next level of GREATNESS. It was worth seeing, I just wish it had MORE of a kick to it so I could boast about it. Just didn't have a WOW factor.
... the worst part of me going to the movies last night was the fact that I INTENDED on staying home every week night this week and going to the gym. I just don't have it in me to tell my friends that little word. NO. I live by a few words by mom always said to me when I was younger. "Treat people the way you want to be treated." So, when my friends ask me to go to the movies and out for drinks or whatever, of course I go. If I asked them, I'd want them to say yes. So even though the gym will still be there tomorrow ... I've got another friend with another girly date offer. Ahh ... maybe I should start going BEFORE work!
